0.2 CEU (PPO)

Workshop Description:

Professionals, especially interpreters, have a unique responsibility of keeping the client’s communication needs at the forefront of their work, while also considering access to services and jobs for fellow professionals. While most practitioners are well-intentioned when thinking of another’s best interest, you often make decisions based on your unconscious beliefs. These unconscious beliefs can negatively influence clients, job selection, access to interpreting jobs, and your interactions with other interpreters. Learn How to Bring Conscious Awareness to an Internal Bias Based on Information from World-Renowned Thought Leaders and Using Culturally Responsive Research. This course will provide you with the skills you need to become more consciously aware of how your unconscious beliefs influence your actions.
